This past week was a whirlwind to say the least and I was unable to get any blogging in. The biggest news…I turned 24!
Yes, I celebrated my 24th birthday last week. It was low key and relaxing, just how I like it. On Sunday I traveled up to Appleton, WI to visit my best friend who treated me to a spa day! We got massages and I got a pedicure while she got a facial. It was a pretty perfect day. After arriving we got coffee and headed to our spa appointment. Afterwards we grabbed lunch while catching some of the NCAA tournament. The rest of the day was spent watching movies and planning for our trip to Austin, TX at the end of May! Froyo for dinner as well!
Tuesday was my actual birthday and I spent it sleeping in! After I felt like getting up I headed to the gym because where else would I want to go? I went to a vinyasa yoga class for an hour then put in a good swim workout. My sister and I planned to see Divergent later in the day, but I still needed to finish the book. So, on my way home I stopped by Starbucks and finished the thrilling novel! Both were good, but of course the book was better. It is hard seeing the movie version of a book right after you finished reading it because you tend to pick out EVERY difference. After the movie I had dinner with my family and cake and gifts came after to top it all off.

Despite a busy week I stayed on top of my training. My legs, calves especially, have been very sore so I took two rest days before Sunday’s race.
